Babysitting Course – Age 11 to 15 (7 Hours) – $65.00
Please note that it requires at least three students to run a course at the location of your choice. Special time arrangements can be made to accommodate any courses to fit into classroom hours.
Become prepared for caring for children by taking a Canadian Red Cross Babysitters course! If you are 11 years or older you are ready to take this course! As a babysitter you have a very important responsibility; make sure you are up for the job. Learn how to change a diaper, make a small meal, play games with children of all ages, prevent injuries, handle emergencies, and keep children safe.
1). Learn safety tips and important childcare skills
2). Learn how to cope with common problems like tantrums and crying
3). Learn how to deal with situations that may make the babysitter uncomfortable
4). Make the child’s environment safe and enjoyable
5). Learn the rights and responsibilities of a babysitter and the family hiring you
6). Learn how to deal with medical emergencies and injuries including:
- Choking
- Sprains and strains
- Bleeding
- Poisoning
- Burns
- Fire Emergencies
- And more!
People Savers
People Savers is a 4 part program developed by the Red Cross to teach safety awareness and first aid skills to elementary-aged students. In these programs, children are taught and reinforced skills involving injury prevention and emergency action. Each level contains five sections:
1) The Canadian Red Cross: Kids learn about the Red Cross services: First aid and water safety services, water safety programs, Emergency services, and international programs.
2) I am a People Saver: Learn that anyone can be a people saver, learn that people savers know how to Prepare! Stay safe! And Survive!
4) Check for Safety: The participants learn how to evaluate their surroundings and learn what makes a safe environment both at home and in the community.
5) Call for Help: Participants Learn how, when and who to call for help in an emergency.
6) Care for a Person: Learn basic skills needed to help and comfort someone who is injured.

Who is People Savers for?
Level One (grades k-1) – 1 hour: $15 a student
Level Two (grades 2-3) – 2 hours: $25 a student
Level Three (grades 4-5) – 3 hours: $35 a student
Level Four (grades 6-7) – 4 hours: $45 a student
This program is flexible to suit a variety of settings and groups. Although each level reinforces knowledge taught at an earlier level, a participant may join the people savers program at ANY LEVEL!...
